have a responsibility to help other women."
 Pretty cool.

At GirlfriendGatherings.com, we applaud the spirit of women
helping women -- that's why we've developed events to help them
do just that. We'll soon be putting together a series of luncheons
called
Pink Power Lunch that will gather women from our
community to share wisdom for achieving professional success
while striking a balance with personal success.

We're pretty sure it's clear why we're calling it a
Power Lunch -- but
why use the word 'Pink?'  After all, many ambitious career women
have avoided the color pink like the plague -- feeling it was
degrading and confining.  Pink symbolizes being a girl, and therein
lies the problem.  Haven't we always been taught that to be
successful in the workplace, we must shed our natural attributes
as women and adopt a tougher, more masculine style?

While in the past that may have been true, in today's world, the
answer to that question is an emphatic, "NO!"   Today "
a growing
number of women who are at, or heading for the top, are
comfortable with their own 'pinkness' - the color, the attitude, and
the opportunity it represents. They are embracing their femininity
along with their strength, their compassion and  resilience, power
and passion
." (Pink Magazine)
Amen sister.  Finally, the girls'  time -- and the color that represents her -- has come.  After all, a record
number of women now lead top companies in America and millions more have started businesses of their
own -- would you believe at a rate twice that of men? Women are excelling in other fields too - from
medicine to education, philanthropy, politics and the arts. And women now account for more than 80
percent of all consumer spending -- representing
trillions of dollars.

The color pink has become a badge of honor for women everywhere -- allowing us to be genuine versions
of ourselves at work and to create and follow
our formula for success.  As women, we often think, act,
communicate, and define professional and personal success differently than our male counterparts -- and
the career/work model that may have fit men for generations, is undergoing a 'pink reinvention' to become a
better fit for us as women.  (

Through Pink Power Lunch, it is our hope that we will help one another develop and adopt formulas that
work best for our needs as women -- enabling us to find the kind of balance between our professional and
personal lives so many are striving for.  Pink Power Lunch is about bringing a new kind of power to the
workplace -- one that is not about conquering, but about collaborating.  Not about occupying, but about
offering, inspiring, and helping one another -- and the organizations we work in -- to not just merely survive,
but thrive.

If you'd like to join the conversation and attend a Pink Power Lunch in your area, please submit your name
to our newsletter mailing list above or
